I’m starting with good news! My layout Assemble was chosen as Scrapbook Challenges’ Pick of the Week. I love news like that.
On to another creation. Every now and then I create a page I really like. This is one of them.

Part of the reason I love this page is because of the photo I used, one from a recent humane society fundraiser. Another reason is that this page was just so much fun to create. I started out by misting the background with two colors. For some reason, the lighter color didn’t absorb very well into the paper. So once the misting dried, I added more color with a chalk ink pad. Love them, and I like how it resulted in fun splotches of color.
The other fun thing I did was make the wire stars. I was considering what embellishments would look good with an urban theme. I considered and discarded a number of other options, such as flowers and canvas. I pulled out my basket of metal embellishments instead and found some scraps. I cut them into star shapes using my Big Shot, but the wire didn’t show up too well. So I painted them with blue and pink to make them stand out.
Then I added a few more touches and called it done.
I used a sketch from Page Maps, and the layout has a stashometer rating of 38%.
Have you made a page that was more fun to make from beginning to end? Please share in the comments.
