Girl Who Waited

It’s been a crazy couple of months. I rediscovered that being able to breathe is really a good thing, and asthma attacks are no fun. I also learned at a convention (see below) that walking and sitting still for long periods are usually OK, but standing in line hurts. But the pain is eased a bit once you rest your feet afterward and get some good photos in the meantime.

Which brings me to this layout. One of my favorite sites for scrapbook sketches has done several layouts using an 8 x 10 photo. So I knew where to go for inspiration for my photo op pictures from the 2014 Fan Xperience convention. You can see the sketch I used (and several example layouts) here.

And now you can see my take.

Girl Who Waited

I had planned to use hexagons as shown in the sketch, but once I pulled out this photo, I knew I had to go in a different direction. I pulled out the flowers that have been in my stash for more than 10 years. Yep, you read that right. I first misted the flowers to turn the petals yellow. Then I added ink and a rhinestone to the center of each. The light brown patterned paper is also from the stash, so this page has a stashometer rating of 30%. Really, it should be higher thanks to the flowers.

I still have more 8 x 10s from the con, but I’ve got several other sketches I can choose from for the design. Fun scrapping ahead!
